A Wood Nymph or nature spirit lives in trees and takes the form of a beautiful young woman. Dryads were originally the spirits of oak trees (drys: “oak”), but the name was later applied to all tree nymphs.
This unique little Wood Nymph is part of the driftwood which is now departed from her home tree. She is made from Cold Porcelain and she thinks she is hidden from view from the Cold Porcelain Ivy surrounding her. A very shy spirit who emanates the Celtic meaning of Ivy which deals with connections and friendships because of its propensity to interweave in growth. Ever furrowing and intertwining, the ivy is an example of the twists and turns our friendships take – but also a testimony to the long-lasting connections and bonds we form with our friends that last over the years.
Another tribute to friendship as well as the test of time is the ivy’s ability to grow in challenging environments.
